Dali Dongsheng Dusit: A Unique High-End Resort Hotel

Combining Thai Branding and Local Cultural Elements

Inspired by the beauty of Erhai Lake and the surrounding mountains, Jian Huang used the Thai Dusit brand as the foundation for this project. By incorporating local regional decorative cultural elements and blending them with the hotel's architectural form, Huang has created a resort hotel that stands out from the rest.

One of the challenges Huang faced during the design process was the limited height of the hotel's public areas. To overcome this, the design team focused on optimizing the top surface shape, adjusting the equipment streamline, and emphasizing the design of wall space decoration. These techniques not only minimized the impact of the height limitation but also added unique visual interest to the hotel.

The materials used in the Dali Dongsheng Dusit hotel include wood veneer, rough stone, matte metal, and attan. This combination of materials creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the surrounding natural beauty.

Spanning over 31,000 square meters, this hotel offers a wide range of amenities and services to cater to the needs of its guests. From the neutral beige and earth tones used in the main color scheme to the skillful incorporation of bright orange, green, and blue accents, every detail has been carefully considered to create a harmonious and nature-inspired environment.

The Dali Dongsheng Dusit project began in July 2019 and was completed in January 2020. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to ensure that the hotel not only met the requirements of a high-end resort but also reflected the unique characteristics of the Dali region.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. The award acknowledges the hotel's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that contribute to a better world.
